The reality is that in your service-based business you’re not a salesperson. In fact, you may even have salespeople hired but that’s the problem.

Your prospects DON’T want to be sold to anymore. They just don’t.

In fact, they try to avoid your salespeople as much as they can. They block hit deny on all incoming calls from your company because they dread the “pitch”

Think of the last time you inquired about a product or service and they called you to try and “sell you”.

Seriously…if that made you smile and get excited…you’re weird. So why do we try and bring salespeople into our business? TO CLOSE THE SALE.

There is a better way

Crazy to think right, but seriously I’m not shitting you when I say there is a far better way to make the sale then selling.

BOOM! Mind Blown right!!!….well maybe not till I explain it.

Being sold too is forceful, uncomfortable and causes people to feel like “they” didn’t make the best choice for them, you made the best choice for you.

How many times have you gone to a store and saw a product, or visited a booth at a trade show and when you asked all the questions you had about a product or service, the person working that booth gave you all the answers you had, gave you more information and told you, if you have ANY questions, call me.

WHAT??? They weren’t going to try and sell me?

NOPE! That’s because they understand the current day consumer. Consumers have a crapload of information at their fingertips. It’s called “The Google”.

You probably went home, opened your computer, fired up your tablet or even did a search in the car on your phone while waiting for your wife to finish shopping at Old Navy about that product or service.

You’re looking for reviews, opinions, competitors to see if that product or service is right for them.

A couple of months ago I was in the market for a tractor (my first). I did a ton of research and I visited all the dealerships, sat on them all, asked a ton of questions.

In the end, I went with the company that answered all my questions, promptly and NEVER once tried to “sell me”.

Of course, my decision was also weighted in my feeling I found the best product. It was in the end…”My Decision”.

During my research, I did a lot of google searches and came up with video reviews of various models. One of the top channels I found was a company in the US called Messicks. Now I couldn’t buy from them because of my location but their content was a resource for me. Had I been local to them, I would have bought from them hands down.

Why Did I Say Get Rid Of Sales People

I didn’t mean fire them, I mean change their roles, their methodology of the sales process in the present day.

They should be more of a concierge to the customer than a salesperson. Give out value, value, value. Be the matchmaker, be the answer to any and all their question.

When this process is streamlined and consistent through your whole company you will be sought after by others that your customers tell their friends about because you helped them BUY.
