While you may have always wanted to go to Disney the opportunity to go is one that is magical.   The reason I’m writing about this topic today is because I gave my daughter a trip to Disney as a Christmas gift this year.  We are actually leaving on the 22nd of January.  As of the time I’m writing this it’s 16 days (or 16 links on her paper chain left).

With something as exciting as Disney, the build up to the event can be as exciting as the actual time when you go.  This is the same type of magic you need to create for your customers.  Whether it’s the time leading up to the delivery of their new purchase, the anticipation of the arrival of their shipment via the mail.  You need to share this excitement with them.

If you have a traditional brick and mortar type store this can be achieved through the enthusiasm of your staff when interacting with the customers.  If they come back multiple times before making the purchase, find a way to remember who they are, ask them questions and learn one piece of information about them that you can ask about.  This will create a stronger customer relationship.

If you are strictly online, using an email marketing system like Infusionsoft would be a powerful resource to have because you can have automated purchase sequences build that go out after a point of purchase until the time when the product arrives.  Even if you sell in store you can marry both the online communication with that of in store to make a powerful relationship building system.  We call it Lifecycle Marketing and it’s comprised of 3 steps (Attract, Sell, WOW) – these links will give you a wealth of knowledge.

In conclusion, you hold the power to build a magical experience for those who come in contact with you.  Think about the experience you want to create and then make it happen!
